Salvage Festival
2019
Salvage Festival was a one day, site specific performance art festival that took place at various sites along Folkestone's harbour and coastline. Invited artists examined notions of reclamation, ecological sensitivity, damage control, value and care - within current socio-political frames of late capitalism and environmental collapse.
Artists were not given a materials budget and instead, asked to engage deeply with the site responsive, reclamation & ecologically sensitive conditions of the festival's invitation.
Curated by Benjamin Sebastian. Supported by Lise Boucon.
Salvage Festival was financially supported by Arts Council England, Creative Folkestone,
Roger De Hana Charitable Trust, Kent County Council and ]performance s p a c e [.
